TPO is a heat-welded single-ply membrane used on many low-slope commercial roofs. A complete scope must address the deck, vapor control, insulation, cover board, attachment, membrane thickness, drainage, flashings, traffic, and wind requirements.
PVC is another heat-welded membrane and is often considered where grease, chemicals, or demanding rooftop conditions affect material choice. Product selection still depends on the actual exposure and full assembly requirements.
EPDM is a flexible rubber membrane installed in adhered, mechanically attached, or ballasted assemblies. Seams, flashing accessories, surface color, cover board, attachment, drainage, and rooftop conditions all belong in the specification.
Asphalt-based systems use layered membranes and surfacing selected around fire, traffic, weather, slope, drainage, and installation conditions. Tear-off findings may change deck repair and insulation needs.
Standing-seam and exposed-fastener metal roofs require different decisions. Panel profile, substrate, clips or fasteners, thermal movement, underlayment, ventilation, snow movement, penetrations, and transitions must work together.
